This review is a mix of how much I really enjoy the AMC A-List program, and needing a post for 2024. I kind of left my blog behind this year. Maybe next year will be better.
AMC took over a bunch of theaters in Connecticut back in 2022, and it ended up being the best thing ever. At first I went back to my local theater to see the changes, and I had the free account. A few months later in June of 2022 I became an A-Lister. I think the pricing varies based on your area. Mine has always been a little more or a little less than $25 a month. Three movie tickets a week (Friday to Thursday). You can’t beat it. It’s your choice to get concessions or not. I do. There’s really no hack to it. Nothing is cheap. I do try to see at least two movies one of the days I go, to make use of my refill.
I’ve always been a movie buff. I went to the movies as much as I could, but a lot of films were also watched at home. Especially when I was a kid. Thanks to this account I’ve seen a range of random films that I would only recommend to a fellow A-lister or someone with a ton of disposable income, as well as quality films. I never really have regret since this account gives me so much access to any AMC theater near me. I just kind of like getting out of the house for cheap as well.
I’ve seen movies multiple times if they’re epic. I usually have new films to choose from. Sometimes there’s a lag in new content for a week or two, but then it’s like two months of new films. It gets better every year since we are farther away from covid. This account makes movie going such a carefree thing. Since it’s easy to go back I don’t feel devastated if someone ruins a film. I’m referencing the few times some people talk or scroll on their phones (it’s adults, not just kids), or worse they smoked/vaped in the theater.
I know this post didn’t really go anywhere, but I can see three movies a week to escape from life. As long as AMC is near me things will be ok.
