Warming a Heart with Winter Snow

Winter has always been my favorite season. Other people get depressed by the dark days but I remain an optimist. The snow will be coming for months, and that makes me feel good. Safety is in those frozen trees. The once green ground wears a white hat. I never want the earth to remove this apparel. Its much more than a fashion statement to me.

The cold doesn’t cause any bother or nuisance, instead it wraps itself around me like a child’s favorite blanket. All my worries are covered and smothered to death. Life comes to me in winter, and the world feels like a nice place to be. Even after the holiday season winter keeps its glow. The season itself is a gift to one of its many admirers.

Taking a Leap…..into the Blog World

As a journalism student blogging came up now and again. Professors’ recommended it, but the school paper had to be attended to, so no blogging was ever done. I did get myself on twitter though, but 140 characters doesn’t say a lot. As someone who struggles with the limit constantly, I know 140 characters doesn’t say what I’m thinking.

As a December, 2013 community college graduate I began to think about blogging for real. Beyond the “oh those sound fun, could I write one” youthful pondering. My semester off could mean the loss of my writing skills. I had thought about getting a blog to prevent this, but I never moved on the idea. I was overwhelmed by the thought. However, now that school has ended I decided to take a leap of faith. I will join the blog world.

This blog will have no set topic, although I plan on making a lot of nature posts.
